The TT Circuit Assen was built in 1955 as permanent racetrack with a length of 7,705 kilometres. In 2006, the ‘Nordkurve’ was abolished and the track-length reduced to 4.555 kilometres. The length of the longest straight amounts to 970 metres. The corners of the TT Circuit traditionally are slightly banked. Assen is the capital of the Dutch province Drente and has got 68,000 citizens. The TT Circuit is regarded as the Mecca of motorbike racing. Assen currently is the only World Championship circuit that was specially designed for motorbikes and will make its debut on the DTM calendar, next year.
The DTM carries out two races on all race weekends. The distance is always 55 minutes plus one lap.
W Series, the brand-new single-seater racing championship for female drivers only will race exclusively on the DTM platform in 2019.
