Audi up front in warm-up
Other than on Saturday, visibility was unaffected for warm-up at the Motorsport Arena in Oschersleben. The feared fog stayed away on Sunday morning and at 9.00 hrs, the 24 drivers started their working day as scheduled. In the 15 minutes’ session, Audi came out on top of the standings for the first time this weekend. Miguel Molina posted the fastest time of 1:31.924 minutes, with his fellow Audi driver Edoardo Mortara second-fastest with 1:32.109 minutes. Paul Di Resta achieved a time of 1:32.268 minutes with his Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM to end up third ahead of points’ leader Pascal Wehrlein.
The overwhelming brand of the weekend so far, BMW, still was having difficulties in the slippery conditions. Its best-placed driver was Martin Tomczyk in seventh place (1:32.827 minutes), while Saturday’s race winner, Timo Glock, only ended up 13th.
At 11.35 hrs, the drivers will go out on track for 20 minutes. In qualifying, the action will be definitely more serious as drivers will try to obtain a good grid position for the race that will start at 15.15 hrs.
