Audi’s anniversary weekend at the Norisring
For Audi, the Norisring race weekend is marked by a special anniversary: 25 years ago, Audi won upon its first participation in the race in the city of Nuremberg, where Hans-Joachim Stuck was behind the wheel of the Audi V8 quattro at the time. On the third DTM race weekend, Mattias Ekström is competing with his Audi RS 5 DTM, sporting the livery of the race car from 1990.
For Mattias Ekström and Hans-Joachim Stuck, the Norisring week began with many hours of signing autographs during public presentations, among others at subsidiaries of the manufacturers. Several hundreds of visitors and Audi employees used the opportunity. Present at every occasion: the two race cars. For the presentation of the Norisring on the first German TV channel ARD, Hans-Joachim Stuck will get behind the wheel of his 25-year-old Audi V8 quattro.
On Friday evening, Audi Sport invited to a trip down memory lane, during which Hans-Joachim Stuck shared his most treasured memories with the guests on the terrace overlooking the Dutzendteich lake. During the current DTM season, Stuck will get a very special honour: in one of the upcoming events, the 1990 DTM champion will be driving Audi guests around the track with an Audi RS 5 DTM race taxi. “For me, this is a dream coming true,” Stuck said.
