Early-morning sport at Lausitz
Warm-up on Sunday morning has been re-instated for the DTM drivers in the 2015 season to allow for some additional preparation for second qualifying and the race and possibly make some set-up changes. After yesterday’s results, especially BMW and Mercedes had hopes of still getting a little bit closer to Audi.
These hopes, however, were initially blown, because the three fastest drivers of today were the same that were on the podium after the race yesterday: once again, Jamie Green came out on top from his fellow Audi drivers Mattias Ekström and Edoardo Mortara. In total, five cars from the Ingolstadt-based brand came into the top ten.
Four Mercedes-Benz drivers took up the remaining positions with Gary Paffett as the best-placed of them in fifth position. Ex-Formula 1 driver Timo Glock was the only BMW driver to make it into the top ten, he ended up eighth.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean that much: the action starts in earnest at 11.40 hrs when the best starting grid positions for today’s race are at stake in qualifying. All the action can be watched on the live stream at www.dtm.com.
