Good viewing figures for DTM in Zandvoort
DTM’s Zandvoort weekend did not only fascinate the visitors on site. The live coverage of the two races contested at the dune circuit located just a stone’s throw away from the Dutch North Sea coast also made for good viewing figures for DTM’s German TC partner ARD both on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, a TV audience of 1.06 million viewers followed BMW’s history-charged win with the first seven places secured by vehicles of the Bavarian manufacturer and reigning champion Marco Wittmann taking the chequered as race winner. A viewing figure representing a market share of 9.6 percent. The Sunday coverage attracted an even bigger TV audience: 1.13 million viewers watched the first DTM win of Portugal’s António Félix da Costa. The market share of the 60-minutes plus one lap race amounted to 8.5 percent.
DTM now makes a three-week break before the race action will be re-started on the first weekend in August at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring. The Austrian DTM meeting will feature the ninth and tenth rounds of the season and the unique GP circuit located in Styria will make for another perfect DTM backdrop.
