Live acts to get the audience rocking during the DTM season kick-off
Smoke aplenty, hot beats and atmospheric pop-rock. The DTM season kick-off, held from 06th to 08th May at Hockenheim, has got the suiting offer for every taste. In addition to autographing sessions with the DTM drivers, the pit walk and – of course – the enthralling race action on the track the crowds also will be entertained to the max by live appearances of great artists. Or, more precisely: Austrian pop star Christina Stürmer will go for it on the ‘ARD-Chartshow’ stage, DJ Antoine will do so in the SWR3-Party in the fan tent and Terry Grant in the stadium as they all want to wow the crowds on the first weekend in May.
Stunt shows with Terry Grant
His parents both were motor racers and he made his steps on the motorbike before he was five years old. And just two years later he completed his first laps on fields and meadows at the wheel of a car. Terry Grant learned his trade early and honed and honed to achieve perfection. In 1995 he made his first stunt – and the rest is history. 11 years later, Grant is 23-time World Champion and renowned for his spectacular shows all around the world. Stunning endless donuts are just peanuts for him. He already stunned the visitors of the 2015 DTM season kick-off at Hockenheim – and now he’s back at the Hockenheimring’s stadium for a total of four stunt shows in Saturday and Sunday.
Christina Stürmer on the ‘ARD-Chartshow’ stage
In 2005, with her song ‘Ich lebe’, the Austrian made her true breakthrough – and in Germany too. The song she also performed when making her debut on the DTM stage made it to fourth place in the German single charts. With the hits ‘Lebe lauter’, ‘Millionen Lichter’ and ‘Ich hör auf mein Herz’, Stürmer produced further charts hits. 11 years after her first major hit, Christina Stürmer who has won several Echo Awards has sold more than 1.5 million records and is one of the most renowned German-speaking female pop and rock singers. During her next appearance within the framework of a DTM weekend she will play parts of her ninth studio album, ‘Seite an Seite’. The appearance on the ‘ARD-Chartshow’ stage, on Sunday from 12:00hrs CEST (11:00hrs BST) in the paddock will be one of he last live shows for the foreseeable future. The artist who famous for her energetic stage shows is expecting her first child but is determined to once again really go for it before entering the baby break.
DJ Antoine at the ‘SWR3 Fanparty’
He was 19 when he started to make music for other people. At first, Antoine Konrad, alias DJ Antoine, put on the music he had liked to hear in his childhood: Hip-Hop and Garage House. Today, the Swiss is House-DJ, producer and label boss. With his singles ‘Welcome to St. Tropez’ and ‘Ma chérie’ he made his international breakthrough. And he is exactly the man it takes to get the DTM season kick-off visitors at the Hockenheimring in a great mood. In the 2015 season finale, DJ Antoine already demonstrated that knows how to get the DTM crowd rocking – and so, a great dancing atmosphere once again be guaranteed when the Swiss returns to Hockenheim. On Saturday evening from 23:00hrs CEST (22:00hrs BST), DJ Antoine will entertain the ‘SWR3 Fanparty’ visitors with a great mix and will play – inter alia – tunes of his brand-new album ‘Provocateur’. The gates open at 19:00hrs and the entrance is free for all holders of a valid DTM ticket.
