Norisring results not final yet
Results of the sixth DTM race at the Norisring aren’t final yet. On Sunday evening, following a report by the technical delegate, the stewards of the meeting came to the conclusion that the BMW M4 DTM driven by Tom Blomqvist (starting number 31) didn’t comply with the technical regulations. Blomqvist, who had finished 16th in the race, was excluded from the results, because, in the view of the stewards, a system was installed in the car that could also have effects on the driving characteristics and that thus far hadn’t been installed in the car, homologated since 2014. The BMW Team RBM announced an appeal against this decision, so that results remain provisional until the final decision by the appeal court of the DMSB.
A statement by BMW read: “We have been informed about the decision by the stewards of the meeting. In the car of Tom Blomqvist (starting number 31), a construction intended to cool the driver was installed on Sunday. It is our view that the car complies with the current technical regulations and therefore, we will lodge an appeal against this decision.”
